I'd have also ideas on the subject of translation (particularly synchronisation between original and translated versions.. but that might be discussed also with benoit lacherez... and I have nothing but ideas... and no real ptototype to demonstrate...
Where did that discussion start and what would be the ideas ?
The discussion started about the topic Documentation of the Libre Software Meeting, which is organizing more or less as time passes...
I invite all interested people to join the lsm-8 list (sympa@lsm.abul.org) to continue / summarize past discussion... I wouldn't like to spam you too much ;)
As the list wasn't up at the time thediscussion started, there is a bit CC list which should probably reduce as we migrate on lsm-8 list... not yet put some follow-up to (how to do it in evolution ?), but should at some time.
It could be interesting to discussing that topic with members of the LDP-fr - it's the base of our relation ;-)
That's me :-)
But I'm afraid I won't have time to formalize on this point since I'm pretty busy :(
I'm pretty busy too, but always interested in new ideas.
The LSM would be a great place then to discuss things that aren't already put on paper... brainstorming and so on...
I'll be there. Would you guys want to schedule a meeting of some sort ?
Well... the main idea at the present time would be to have at least a birds of feather session to discuss many things we all have interest in (documentation, translations, managing the process of the documentation/translation efforts, formats, tools, what else matters in this field).
I keep the following from your answer to keep traduc@traduc.org informed...
matters and could provide good knowledge and maybe present us the tools he's setting up at gnu.org for translations synchronisation (something that could eventually be linked to Narval some day since both tools are used for synchronizing translations between various contributors)...
I use (and created) Narval to help me out with coordination. It can do a lot of things that could be done some other ways too. Discussing all of the different tools and ways of coordinating our projects is certainly a good idea.
Well I think that the docs/translation topic could be great if all this is interesting many of us ;)
I was asked to organize one at LSM in Bordeaux, but never got the time to do anything about it... maybe setting up a date for a meeting there would be a good start ?
I could be there on july 6,7,8. What about you guys ?
I'll be there all meeting long. See you in Bordeaux... More details on lsm.abul.org in case you wondered.
