Bonjour, Je suis étudiante en DESS de traduction et je dois traduire un manuel d'urilisation destiné à la création d'un site Web. J'ai quelques problèmes dans l'adaptation du texte en français, puisque le texte anglais parle de l'Assistant Internet pour Word, et je voudrais savoir si je peux en parler, s'il est toujours disponible. En effet, on m'a dit que maintenant les gens ont Frontpage. Je voudrais en fait savoir s'il serait cohérent de parler de l'Assistant Internet pour Word dans un manuel de création de site Web destiné à être utilisé aujourd'hui. Si ce n'est pas le cas, comment faut-il alors appeler les boutons ou les icônes équivalents dans Frontpage? Je vous donne un exemple d'un passage à traduire avec ma traduction actuelle: Adding your logo to a page Once the image has been created, you need to embed it into your HTML document. To do this using Internet Assistant for Word, simply place the cursor where you want the picture to appear and click on the Picture button. Then simply browse to the Images subdirectory, find the file, and check that it has been imported with a lower case filename. The last thing to do is specify an alternative text string. Some people use text-only browsers, while others turn images off to save downloading time. They will see the text string instead of the graphic. Once the graphic is on your screen you can select it and then click on the Align Center button to centre it on the page. Finally, if you want to set the image up as a link to another page, select it, click on the link button in the tool bar and then browse for the relevant file. En effet, certaines personnes utilisent des navigateurs seulement en mode texte, tandis que d’autres choisissent dans « Options » de ne pas télécharger les images, afin de réduire le temps de chargement. Ils pourront ainsi voir la chaîne de caractères, au lieu du graphique. Une fois que le graphique apparaît sur votre écran, vous pouvez le sélectionner, puis cliquer sur le bouton Centrer, pour le centrer sur la page. Enfin, si vous voulez créer un lien entre l’image et une autre page, sélectionnez-la, cliquez sur le Link Button de la barre d’outils, et parcourez ensuite l’arborescence pour trouver le fichier recherché. Quels seraient ici les équivalents (si toutefois il en faut) dans ces expressions par exemple?: - Picture button - Align Center button, ainsi que pour les autres... Bonjour, Je suis étudiante en DESS de traduction et je travaille actuellement sur la traduction d'un manuel explicatif pour la création d'un site Web. Plusieurs produits et logiciels sont abordés dans ce texte et il me faut donc trouver une adaptation de certains d'entre eux en français (car le texte s'adresse bien entendu à un public français). Certains me posent plus particulièrement problème. Thanks for the translation. One small point: the msgid "(C)" should be translated to a copyright symbol if it exists in the translated charset, as is done in en_GB.po. Could you please apply the following patch? (Ironically, the copyright symbol already appears in line 2 of fr.po, in a comment.) Also, is there any way I can insert a comment automatically in the .po file so that this is more obvious to other translators? I seem to recall that there used to be a way to do this by putting special comments in the original .c source file. Fileutils french translation patch

Hi, Here is a patch to the fr.po file of fileutils : - it corrects a few wrong translations and typos, and improves a bit (I think) some others [fr.po-patch] - it corrects column alignment on 'df' output [fr.po-patch] - adds one gettext string (one liner for df.c and 5-liner for fileutils.pot: fileutils-patch and dfc-patch) needed for nice column size adjustement in df. On the last point here is some detail : the 'df' output in french was garbled, because 'df' code doesn't make any 'smart' adjustment and padding to handle different column title sizes. So what I made in the fr.po file was hand tunning of those titles to enhance the output. I added a gettext string to handle space padding between two strings, so there is one line to modify in df.c too. The result is a nice column alignment for 'df -[hiP]*' (-T flag is not well handled). Bonjour, pour la traduction de Mutt nous sommes génés par le terme "anonymous remailer". Ont été proposés "réexpéditeur anonyme", "redistributeur anonyme", "relais anonymiseur"... Mais pas de consensus. Le premier semble le mieux coller à la fonction, mais "réexpéditeur" (à l'inverse de "réexpédition") n'a pas l'air d'être dans le dictionnaire.
