Hi people. Thanks for report.
Is it an error or a warning? For me it looks like a warning. I rather see the translation like this: "install: l'option strip pourrait ne pas être appliquée lors de l'installation d'un répertoire"
Suppose i change the 'po' file, do i have to change all versions 'po' files?
Tks for involvement.

Hi, French translators.
This bug is still found in coreutils 6.10, and is probably worth fixing.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm Cc'ing Michel Robitaille and the french translation team, so someone will fix it upstream. Their addresses are listed in fr.po.

% LANG=C install -s -d foo install: the strip option may not be used when installing a directory % LANG=fr_FR install -s -d foo install: les options de strip peuvent ne pas être utilisées lors de l'installation d'un répertoire
which translate back to something like: install: the strip options may be unused when installing a directory
which make it look like a warning rather than an error.
